A Bloody Labor Day Weekend in NYC

This Labor Day weekend was all but peaceful in many NYC neighborhoods. In the last 4 days there have been 52 shooting incidents and 68 shooting victims. To some New Yorkers this may be no surprise as they live with fear of shooting everyday—one such neighborhood is Harlem. Yet, this weekend has caused a spark. Among the victims were 2 New York City Police Officers, which has Bloomberg saying it’s enough. In a public speech on Sunday and in a press release this morning, Bloomberg stated “somthing needs to be done about the problem of illegal guns and the urgent need for Federal action.”
