The New York Times Company is sponsoring the Cyber Bullying Summit on Monday, July 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Times Center. The goal of this event is to provide parents with the information on how to protect their kids from cyber bullying. This event will host renowned leaders in technology and Internet safety, along with social media outlets such as Facebook and MTV to speak to parents about what they can do to keep their kids safe. counselors, child advocates, and representatives from the NYC Department of Education, the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, and the NYC District Attorney's Office will also be at the summit, as will cyber bullying and cyber safety expert, Parry Aftab. It was a nice event worthy of seeing. Very useful especially to parents it provided a lot of information about what it is, and how to address it. Don't be a 'Mama Drama' when responding to an attack your child might get, but instead show them how to handle situations like this as an adult. Your guidance will make a difference in their future lives.
